Welcome to the official website of Delta Sigma Pi, Xi Chapter!
 
My name is Chris Owens and I am the 2024 President of Delta Sigma Pi’s Xi Chapter here at the University of Michigan. We are a professional business fraternity affiliated with the Ross School of Business, and we pride ourselves not only on academic and professional excellence but also on our tight-knit brotherhood built upon a strong, family-like culture. What makes DSP unique in comparison to other business frats on campus is that we are comprised entirely of business majors in the Ross School of Business. The shared collegiate experiences make our fraternity feel like a family. Whether it is seeing a brother in class or attending internship and job recruiting events together, the family culture here has helped me maneuver the fast paced opportunities of such a large university. Fond memories of mine are connecting with brothers both during the school day and outside of Ross. I always appreciate having a brother to talk to, and it serves as a great reminder of the bond that brought me to this organization. 

DSP strives to provide brothers with unrivaled opportunities and lifelong friendships, just ask anyone in the brotherhood, a community of over 100 members. With a history dating back over 100 years, our organization has always emphasized professional development. We provide our members with professional events, career panels featuring our extensive alumni base, and mentorship coordination with both current brothers and alumni. We pride ourselves on our tradition and culture, aspects that we work hard to maintain and cultivate. These aspects are fostered through social events, community service, and brotherhood bonding. A few of my favorites have been barbecues, game nights, and sport tournaments.

 I am inspired daily from our diverse group of brothers, who are leaders inside and outside the classroom. Our brothers are heavily involved on campus across the board, they are students who use their responsibility as leaders to cultivate communities of inclusivity and respect. I am proud to be in the same organization as these wonderful people. DSP is a perfect opportunity to develop professionally as an underclassman while getting acclimated to a new school. As an out of state student, DSP provided me with the guidance and community needed to excel in my freshman year. Brothers have encouraged me to learn from others, pursue my ambitions, and truly enjoy each day while on my own unique academic and career path. I have been supported since day one in DSP, and I am able to do what I love with people who mean so much to me. While my time being mentored has passed, I know it is time to pay it forward.

DSP has been the most impactful experience in my time in college and I am truly grateful for the influence that this organization has had on me. Thanks to generous and insightful upperclassmen, I have the toolset needed to navigate Ross and to succeed in my academic and professional endeavors. I have a family-like brotherhood that pushes me to be the best version of myself, and it is thanks to this community that I have best friends for life beyond college. Throughout my time in DSP, I have made memories that will last a lifetime. Most importantly, the Xi Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi gave me a place where I can truly be my authentic self, it is my home away from home.
